Professor Becker is the Co-Director of the Oxford Endometriosis CaRe Centre where they aim to combine excellent clinical management with world-class research. As such the team is investigating possible biomarkers for endometriosis, potential genetic causes of the condition and try to identify novel therapeutic targets.

Bo Becker is an assistant professor in the Finance Unit and has taught in the MBA curriculum and in executive programs. Becker was summarily fired, along with other non-tenured professors, for supporting tenured Professor Thomas Szasz in a dispute with the administration over academic freedom. After a year in Italy, Becker was hired back at Syracuse University, this time in the School of Education.
